Fall Fashion

Hello beautiful! Today I want to talk about my passion for fashion. Being a model I follow lots of designers and clothing brands. So let’s have a conversation about my fall favorites, and what I think will be on trend this season. I will always have my fall staples of boots + leather jacket, but this year I’ve decided to mature my style and go for it.

Recently a designer gave me a stack of old WWD magazines. When she handed them over she said that retail fashion is always a season behind designer fashion. After reading an August 2016 issue her statement was very validated. The model was sporting all my favorite fashion for this fall.

My first new favorite trend is pleated skirts. When buying clothes, I look for versatility, the piece needs to work with multiple other pieces and occasions. I went for a black pleated skirt for the fall. To me a pleated skirt flatters many body types and can be dressed up or down. Wear it with strappy heels and a fancy blouse or body suit for a polished look that is timeless. Dress it down with a band tee and tennis shoes, for a lunch date in the city.

Side note about the band tee that I’m wearing. This one is near and dear to my heart, this is from the shop of the first place Pearl Jam ever practiced in Seattle. The first notes of music they every graced the Emerald city with. This historical landsite is now being torn down, demolished, to build a parking lot! I love our city, and that it is expanding, but we also need to preserve it’s history and the what makes it our city. Here is a link to the Seattle Times article about it for more info: http://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/music/seattle-is-dead-mourning-the-potential-loss-of-black-dog-forge-pearl-jams-birthplace/

Sorry I digress, anyway.

Next on my fall must have list is a bomber jacket. I love the statement one from the GAP shown in WWD. I went for a softer olive colored bomber by The North Face that I got at Nordstrom. Its slightly more subdued and something I feel matches with everything in my closet. Wear it with the pleated skirt or jeans for multiple looks.

This season I also love the clash of the feminine and sporty. Like tennis shoes with skirts and large boyfriend jackets with dresses. I also adore the trend of mix and matching textures and patterns, which we will see a lot of this season.

My final fashion favorite for the fall is accessories. That third piece that brings it all together for a high fashion look that everyone will be envious of. You will have to read all about my favorite third piece trends in my next blog post.

I would love to hear your favorite trends for the season! Send me links, pics, whatever ya got, and why it’s your must have. Thanks for reading!
